I’ve always been fascinated by craft breweries. Not only because I love craft beer (which I do, a lot) but also because of the vibe that is typically carried through the entire brewery. Each brewery has it’s own identity, and it permeates through their beer, interior design style, logo/swag, and just overall aesthetic. When I stumbled upon Angry Chair Brewery, I knew I had to do a Brew Review.
Located in the up-and-coming Seminole Heights area, which is full of hipster character, Angry Chair Brewery is a cozy and eclectic spot with some seriously delicious beers. I loved Angry Chair’s interior aesthetic right away. Between the artwork, industrial piping, and the tractor-seat chairs (which are surprisingly comfy, by the way!) it all worked together to give off an edgy/rebel vibe true to the Seminole Heights area.
The Brews: Angry Chair Brewery
With so many delicious options on tap, it wasn’t easy to pick a brew. I decided to go with the “Promoter IPA” because I can never turn down a good IPA, plus a few smaller samples including the “Strawberry Berliner,” the “Drive-Thru” cherry and lime Berliner, and the “Two Pump Chump Porter” with hazelnut. Each one was as yummy as the next, and the “Drive-Thru” was my favorite of the samples even though it was on the sour side. I’m slowly getting into sour beer, I think it’s an acquired taste but these beers were the perfect intro!

The Tour: Angry Chair Brewery
While snapping some photos, a guy behind the bar asked me “What are you taking photos for??” – A question I’m surprised wasn’t asked sooner. He turned out to be the face behind Slim Pickens Cider & Mead, and ended up giving us a behind the scenes tour of Angry Chair. That’s where things got interesting and how I ended up stirring up a brew kettle… and he even was nice enough to get me an awesome shirt with his logo on it!

My overall Brew Review of Angry Chair Brewery is that you need to check it out! It’s small enough to feel comfortable, but not too small where you feel like everyone can hear your conversation. There’s plenty of seating and interesting artwork that matches the “Angry Chair” theme, and lots of tables for groups to get together. The bartenders were knowledgeable and helpful in my beer selections, and let me try multiple beers before making my final decisions. And of course keep an eye out for Slim Pickens!
