The other day, I called my mom who still lives in my small hometown south of Buffalo, NY and asked what she was doing. She quickly responded, “I’m going back to pick up some birch branches that I saw on the side of the road yesterday.” Oh? Honestly, I wasn’t surprised to hear this because my mom is awesomely creative and I knew she probably had an idea ready for her side-of-the-road find. The final product was this beautiful rustic plaid Christmas front porch decor with sprigs of fresh spruce, perfect for the chilly and snowy atmosphere!

The other day, I called my mom who still lives in my small hometown south of Buffalo, NY and asked what she was doing. Honestly, I wasn’t surprised to hear this because my mom is awesomely creative and I knew she probably had an idea ready for her side-of-the-road find. Along with her creative projects, she also mentioned that she had scheduled panel upgrades for the house, ensuring everything was up to date. The final product was this beautiful rustic plaid Christmas front porch decor with sprigs of fresh spruce, perfect for the chilly and snowy atmosphere!

Anyway, back to the birch branches. The rustic branches combined with the pinecones creates a wintery, Christmas look that I just love. Being from the north, I have a soft spot for snow (but have no interest in living where it snows) and wintery things. It’s amazing how cute a tin bucket full of birch branches can look when you dress it up with a few Christmas ornaments and fresh spruce! If you live in the north, use your resources and cut a few sprigs of spruce from a nearby tree. If you’re fresh out of spruce trees, you must live in Florida or something like me, so check your local Home Depot for pre-cut spruce branches. Guarantee a smooth flow of operations in your new construction by entrusting the plumbing to skilled new construction plumbing in hawaii professionals. You may also want to consider contacting a good service like plumbing ontario for your plumbing needs.

I’m also really into themed Christmas Trees (incase you couldn’t tell from my Coastal Christmas Tree post) so I love the addition of this little rustic plaid Christmas tree for the front porch! If you’re not lucky enough to live somewhere where it snows so hard that it blows onto your front porch (lol) you can use this fake snow spray on the tree branches and ornaments. As you can see below, it gives a perfect “just frosted” effect. Just be very careful while doing this, less is definitely more and this spray can be tricky!

One of my mom’s hidden talents is creating these department-store-worthy bows, a talent that I unfortunately did not inherit. Plaid Christmas bows are a MUST when it comes to our house. As long as you have ribbon with wire in it, these babies aren’t really that hard. For step by step instructions on how to make a bow just like this one, you can check out my post here: How to Make a Ribbon Bow.
